Crowned Heads Four Kicks

This cigar brand was founded in the year 2011 by former employees of the CAO brand (now part of the publicly listed Scandinavian Tobacco Group). The four colleagues (hence possibly the name FOUR Kicks?) introduced these cigars as their first line to the US market. Officially, the four were inspired in choosing the brand name by a song of the same name by Kings of Leon. The song is about self-loyalty and perseverance. It's worth knowing that the STG (Scandinavian Tobacco Group) purchased the CAO company from Tim Özgener in 2007 and then wanted to relocate the headquarters from Nashville to Richmond in 2011. The four didn't want to leave Nashville, and this became an opportunity for them to "break free" from the STG corporate environment and create something of their own.

It took a few years until a distributor was found in Germany; since 2015, our fellow dealer Salih Dalay from Saarbrücken has been distributing this boutique brand in Germany. Initially, only the sampler was available, and since January 2017, the vitolas are also available individually, outside of the sampler. The wrapper is a Sun Grown (we are not allowed to call it differently anymore...) from Ecuador, the binder and filler are entirely from Nicaragua.

The production takes place at Tabacalera La Alianza, run by the industry giant Ernesto Perez-Carillo (EPC Cigars). These are medium-bodied cigars that offer distinct woody and leathery notes. Ernesto, as always, stands for impeccable craftsmanship quality.
